Platinum Status will
make your party go Platinum! Platinum Status is the creation of veteran
singer/song writer Althea Battle and Michael Mc Daniels. The band is
fronted by the incredible Power House of Soul, Miss Althea “Satin Doll”
Battle and her right hand man “Mr. Otis “O So Smooth” Cooper” Platinum
Status was formed three years ago with veteran players including Michael
Mc Daniels (Drummer) Tim Landis (1st Guitarist, currently with Cecil
Williams), Joel Kelly (2nd Guitarist), Mack Taylor (Saxophonist,
formerly with The Coasters), Keni “Jam” Williams (Bassist, formerly of
Masterpiece & 5.0), John Gibson (Trumpet), Andre Webb (Trombone) and
Adam Ivey (Keyboardist).
Platinum Status is equipped with a
professional sound system engineered by Sound Technician “Otis
Goodnight”, and his assistant Quinteis Jones. Stage Manager , Meischa
Wilson, assists you or your event planner keep the evening running
smooth. Platinum Status also features their own full-time DJ. Jason “DJ
Platinum” Banares will keep the party jumping even when Platinum Status
takes a short break.
 Full time members include a 3-piece horn
section, professional sound engineer, party host and mobile DJ. All the
members rehearse regularly in Berkeley - in order to keep their
movements in sync, their medleys tight, your special requests sharp and
the song list current. Platinum Status is available in a 6-piece Party
Combo, an 8 piece Funk Combo including saxophone & trumpet or 9-piece Party
Extravaganza with complete horn section. Every variety party combo features a
professional sound engineer, stage manager and disc jockey. Additional
musicians and special guest performers play with the band from time to
time or are added based on the needs of your event.
